Rivalry

It pains me to say it, but Bill Plaschke is the only one who gets it right.

It's too bad that there couldn't be more people there, Stanford doesn't sell out a lot of their games though either.

Not sure what the point was there, but Stanford sure is having a great season...by Stanford Football standards anyway. SC is obviously having a pretty terrible one by SC's standards, but I think 85,000 is still respectable attendance for Saturday's game. If Stanford, with their great year, doesn't sell out games in a stadium that holds 35,000 less than what showed up for two teams with 9 losses between them, that's a shame. Bill, you remind me of a Bruin fan in that your teams so rarely defeat the hated Trojans, that you cling to any team that does.

I guess Bruin fans are the same as red sox fans, and notre dame fans, and patriot fans... I wish that I rooted for a team so pure and sportsmanlike as all your teams apparently are.

it's rough as well when you never beat a team and yet lead the series 42-34. LA fans don't have a short memory at all...

Wow, the grapes are sure sour today!

Not saying SC leads ND all-time or that SC and its fans are perfect angels. You're arguing against points I never attempted to make.

My point is that, like UCLA fans, your teams have recently not given you anything to cheer for so you both tend to celebrate the teams that were able to do what your teams could not. Also reminds me of the Az St. student who was so proud to rub in that SC lost to...Oregon, a school a thousand miles away from his. It's kind of sad. Maybe that's just the nature of the rivalry and I should be thankful I've seen my team lose three this season instead of the 17 losses by WSU and ND. It's all cyclical though. I am sure the time will come when my team sucks so bad that I prefer to focus on whatever success anyone else has against Notre Dame rather than deal with my own teams abysmal state. As of now though, I personally don't get much joy anymore from seeing UCLA or ND lose because I've just come to expect it.

as have others... hence why a rivalry game in one of the biggest cities in the nation with both schools involved fails to sell out.

I'm just saying you making the statement that Bill Plaschke is the only one who 'gets it right" reminds me a bunch of certain people who might say, "i hate to say it, but she's the only one who gets it... http://townhall.com/columnists/AnnCoulter/2009/10/14/natural_born_losers"

LOL. I can't argue with that logic. You win.

Coulter can end almost any argument, she's that good.
