Congratulations. You were clearly the better team this regular season. I will root for the Angels in the playoffs, because if the A's aren't in, I want the AL west to make a strong showing.

Up yours.

Thats like saying I would root for SC in the BCS because they were a PAC 10 team.

Exactly Kory. Why wouldn't you say that? For example, I am sure there were many USC fans last year who were embarrassed at how badly UCLA played against Florida State in their bowl game. Not because their UCLA fans, but it makes USC look even worse when a team that beats them loses.

Your problem is that you are not a true fan of any team in any sport. Your allegiance is wishy-washy at best. You root for SC and UCLA, Lakers and Clippers, A's, Dodgers, and now Angels. It's comical. The only thing funnier is how you justify it.

My point is, your team (one of them) lost and ours won. Focus on your offseason and stay off our bandwagon. We gots no room for you!

Your problem is that you see the world in black and white. I operate comfortably in nuance.
And to be clear, I'm not "rooting" for the Angels in the truest sense of the word, but of the teams that are in it, I'd "prefer" them over the others. I don't know why that's comical.
Have you not watched the World Series since 2002 because the Angels haven't been there? And if you have, haven't you desired that one team win over the other? Wouldn't this be rooting for a team other than the Angels, even if it's only on a temporary basis? Is that comical?
If you don't pull for any other team in the playoffs if the Angels aren't in it, why would you even watch it? Wouldn't the logical conclusion be 90% of the baseball watching public simply tuning out the playoffs? That would be horrible for the sport. I think fans would enjoy baseball more if they were fans of the game as well as fans of their team. People enjoy games in which they can root for something. Giving a big screw you to those who made the playoffs by not watching them would not good for baseball.
Oh wait, that is what most baseball fans do.

I'd never root in any capacity for another team in our division, much less a rival like the A's, Dodgers, or UCLA.

Adam brought up a good point: Fans should just enjoy the game of baseball. Did anyone watch the Padre-Rockie game? I wasn't rooting for either team, but man was it a great game.

Also, I see one Coor's Light can in that picture. Somebody stuck to their guns.

Make that two Coor's Light cans!
